KoNECT (Korea National Enterprise for Clinical Trials) was established in 2007 as a non-profit organization funded by MOHW (the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare) to advance and to promote the country's clinical trial capabilities.
The Korea National Enterprise for Clinical Trials(KoNECT; President In-seok Park) was approved as a foundation under the Ministry of Health and Welfare(2014.3.25.) with the goal of strengthening global competitiveness of domestic clinical trials and promoting new drug development. The Enterprise was designated as an 'Institution specializing in information management for new drug R&D(2014.7.9)' and 'National Clinical Trial Support Center(2020.3.2.)' in accordance with 「Special Act on Fostering and Support of Pharmaceutical Industry (Act No. 15908, Dec. 11, 2018)」. The Enterprise is responsible for supporting domestic and multi-national clinical trial related to projects such as drug clinical trial foundation creation and domestic and foreign investment attraction, investigation and research of systems to vitalize clinical trials, training and certification of clinical trial-related experts, and collection, analysis, provision of clinical trial-related information.
